Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect what you send us through the contact form or a meeting booking, and use it to help you with your website. Google Analytics shows us how the site is used. We don’t sell your information, we don’t use advertising trackers, and we don’t send marketing emails.
Questions or requests: info@clearpixelweb.com.
01 Who we are
Clear Pixel is a web design studio based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This policy covers clearpixelweb.com and the ways you can reach us through it. It explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have.
We follow Canadian privacy law, including Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where it applies, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Our privacy contact is Dimitri, the owner of Clear Pixel. You can reach them at info@clearpixelweb.com.
02 What we collect
We only collect what you give us, plus the minimum a website needs to run.
When you contact us
When you send the contact form, we receive your name, email address, company (if you add it), the topic you pick and your message. Resend delivers it to our inbox as an email. To keep out spam, the form also runs Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at your browser and connection for signs of a bot. If you email us directly, we receive whatever you send.
When you book a meeting
Bookings run through Cal.com. It collects your name, email address, the time you pick and any notes you add, then sends us the booking. Meetings happen over video or, for Calgary clients, at your office.
When you visit the site
Like every website, our host logs technical details of each request (IP address, browser, the page asked for and the time) to keep the site secure and working. These logs are kept for a short period and are not used to identify you. Our host, Cloudflare, also counts visits and measures how fast pages load for real visitors (Cloudflare Web Analytics). It doesn’t use cookies or store anything in your browser.
We also use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive (for example from a Google search), their approximate location (city level), and their device and browser. It uses cookies to tell visits apart. We use it only to improve the site, not for advertising, and we don’t try to identify you from it. The cookie policy lists what’s stored in your browser and how to opt out.
03 How we use it
- To reply to you, prepare quotes, and run the meetings you book.
- To deliver the work and invoice for it if you become a client.
- To keep the site secure and to prevent abuse.
- To see how visitors use the site, so we can improve it.
- To meet our legal and tax obligations.
We don’t sell or rent your personal information, we don’t share it with advertisers, and we don’t use it for anything you wouldn’t reasonably expect from the purposes above. If we ever want to use it for something new, we’ll ask first.
04 Emails from us
We only email you to reply to your message, about a meeting you booked, or about work we’re doing together. We don’t send newsletters or marketing emails. If we ever start, they’ll go only to people who sign up for them.
Any marketing email we send will say who it’s from and how to reach us, and will include a way to unsubscribe. You can also reply “unsubscribe” or email info@clearpixelweb.com. We act on unsubscribe requests within 10 business days, as Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) requires, and usually the same day.
05 Who helps us
We use a small number of trusted services to run the business. They process personal information only on our behalf, for the purposes described here, and under contracts that require them to protect it.
| Service | What it does for us | What it receives | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosts the website, keeps short-lived request logs, counts visits and page speed without cookies (Web Analytics), and checks contact form sends for bots (Turnstile) | IP address, browser details, pages requested, page load timings | United States and other countries |
| Google Analytics | Measures how the site is used | Pages viewed, how you arrived, approximate location, device and browser details, a cookie ID | United States |
| Google Workspace | Our business email | Anything you email us | United States and other countries |
| Resend | Delivers contact form messages to our inbox | Your name, email address, company and message | United States |
| Cal.com | Books meetings | What you enter when booking | United States |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety. If Clear Pixel is ever sold or merged, client records would move to the new owner under this same policy.
06 Storage outside Canada
Several of the services above store or process information in the United States. While it’s there, it is protected by our contracts with those providers but is subject to US law, and US courts, law enforcement and national security authorities may be able to access it. If you have questions about how a provider handles your information outside Canada, email us.
07 How long we keep it
- Messages and meeting bookings: as long as we’re talking, then up to two years unless you become a client.
- Client records, contracts and invoices: as long as Canadian tax law requires, generally six years.
- Unsubscribe requests: kept permanently, so we never email you by mistake.
- Server logs: kept by our host for a short period, typically days to weeks.
08 How we protect it
The site runs only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Our accounts use strong, unique passwords and two-factor authentication, and only Clear Pixel can see your information. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we’ll tell you and the privacy commissioner as the law requires.
09 Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we’ve used it,
- correct anything that’s wrong,
- delete your information, unless we have to keep it by law, or
- stop emailing you, or withdraw any consent you’ve given.
Email info@clearpixelweb.com. We’ll confirm who you are, then reply within 30 days, usually much sooner. It’s free.
If you’re not happy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
10 Children
Our site and services are for businesses. They aren’t aimed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
11 Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, such as a new use of your information, we’ll ask for your consent where the law requires it.
