How to choose a web design company in Calgary
Twelve questions to ask, a scorecard to compare proposals, and the ownership and hosting traps to avoid when hiring a Calgary web designer.
Read articleWe’re a Calgary studio building fast, custom websites for Calgary businesses, from Kensington storefronts to NE contractors. Real local clients, fixed prices from $2,000 CAD, and sites built around how Calgarians actually search.
Calgary had about 1.56 million residents in 2025, by the City’s estimate. From 2023 to 2024 the metro area grew faster than any Canadian metro in at least two decades, and for three years running it gained more people from other provinces than anywhere else in the country. Every newcomer needs a dentist, a mechanic and a barber, and finds them by searching.
And Calgarians often add a quadrant or a community to the search: “dentist calgary nw”, “physio nw calgary”, “dentist marda loop”. The city has 15 business improvement areas and 24 designated main streets, each with its own regulars. Your site has to say which part of the city you serve, or you’re competing with all of it.
And there’s a lot of it. The City’s open data shows about 23,000 active licences for businesses with premises, before you count home-based ones, and more than 5,000 of those were first issued since January 2025. A template won’t stand out in that.
Calgary is big enough to have competition in every category, and local enough that people still choose the business down the road.
Searches here come with a quadrant or community attached. Clear service areas and location details tell Google, and customers, exactly where you work.
The City licenses thousands of retailers, restaurants and contractors. Your site has a few seconds to show why you, not the next result.
People moving from other provinces don’t have anyone to ask yet. Reviews, real photos and upfront prices do the word-of-mouth work for you.
Stampede brought 1.47 million visits in 2025. Restaurants, bars and retailers need hours, menus and offers they can change in minutes.
From Beltline condos to new communities at the city’s edge, local searches happen on phones. We build pages that load fast on a weak signal.
For trades, clinics and salons, online booking and quote forms turn a 9 p.m. search into tomorrow’s appointment.
Every Calgary address carries a quadrant, and most local searches do too. We plan your pages around the parts of the city your customers come from, whether that’s one BIA or all four quadrants.
Use your real quadrant and neighbourhood in your Google Business Profile, your contact page and your service descriptions. Consistency is what Google trusts.
If you’re inside one of Calgary’s 15 business improvement areas, you’re part of it already. Its directory, events and campaigns are local visibility you’ve paid for. BIAs in Calgary

With us, most small-business websites start at $2,000 CAD for a 3 to 5 page site, and larger builds start at $4,000 CAD, each as a fixed price quoted up front. The number depends on how many pages you need, features like booking or online payments, and how much of the copy we write. Our pricing page shows what’s included at each level.
Most sites take four to five weeks from kickoff to launch.
